Marble quotes vary more than any other service in Dubai, and the reason is that two fundamentally different jobs are sold under one name.
Genuine restoration
Diamond abrasives in progressive stages. Grinding where there is lippage or deep scratching, then honing to remove etch marks and wear, then polishing to build the reflection back. The stone itself is cut flat, and the result lasts years.
A coating
A polymer or wax over the existing surface. It shines immediately, hides nothing structural, wears through in traffic lanes within months and yellows. It also has to be stripped before real restoration can begin, so the cheap job makes the proper one more expensive.
How to tell them apart
Ask which diamond grits will be used and in what sequence. A restoration contractor answers immediately and specifically. Ask to see the slurry — real honing produces a stone-coloured slurry that has to be extracted.
Crystallisation
A legitimate chemical and mechanical process that hardens calcium-based stone as it shines it. It complements honing; it does not repair a damaged floor.
Everything we do is scoped against luxury deep cleaning, priced after an inspection and fixed in writing before any work begins.
Questions
Answered plainly.
About a day per large room. Grinding, honing and polishing are separate stages and each needs the previous one finished.
Marginally, measured in fractions of a millimetre. Stone can be honed many times over its life.
Yes, once the finish is achieved. Sealer slows staining. It does not prevent etching.
No phone quotes. An inspection, a written list, and a price that does not move on the day. Fill this in and it reaches us complete — no back-and-forth to establish the basics.
