Fibre and colour test first

Sofa & Majlis Seating · Dubai & Abu DhabiThe wrong method on the wrong fabric is not a bad clean — it is a ruined sofa. Velvet, linen, wool and loose-weave upholstery each need a different answer, and none of them is the same as microfibre.
Every piece is fibre-tested and colour-tested in an unseen area before anything is applied. Durable fabrics take hot-water extraction; delicate, viscose-blend and shrink-prone materials take a dry-compound or low-moisture method instead. Leather is cleaned and conditioned, never soaked.
Majlis seating gets the same treatment across the full set so the pieces still match afterwards — cleaning three of five cushions is how a sofa ends up looking worse than before.

Part of Soft Furnishing & Upholstery Care — quoted after an inspection and confirmed in writing before any work begins.
We test an unseen corner of every piece before any water or product touches it, and we will tell you honestly when something will not come back rather than take the booking anyway.
Hot-water extraction with a low-residue pre-spray, worked into the weave and drawn back out rather than left to dry in. Cotton and polyester blends handle this well; loose-weave linens are tested first because they can shrink at the seams.
Cleaned, fed and protected rather than scrubbed. A pH-balanced cleaner lifts body oils and denim transfer from the grain, then a conditioner goes back in — Dubai's dry indoor air is what cracks leather, not use.
Never saturated. Velvet is cleaned with controlled moisture and brushed back in one direction while damp, because pile that dries flat in patches is a permanent mark, not a stain.
Dry-cleaned with solvent and a nap brush. Water on suede leaves a tide line that no amount of further cleaning removes, so we do not use it.
Where covers come off and the label allows it, they are cleaned off the frame and refitted slightly damp so they sit correctly. Where they do not come off, they are extracted in place.
Priced by seat rather than by piece, because a five-metre corner unit is three sofas of work. Each section is moved out, the frame and floor beneath cleaned, then the unit reassembled.
Mechanisms are opened, the debris that collects in the frame vacuumed out, and the motor housing kept dry throughout. The crevices around a recliner hinge hold more than any other part of a sofa.
Large-format work: bolsters, backrests and floor cushions lifted, the base and frame cleaned, and every seam vacuumed before extraction. Usually a half-day on its own in a villa.
Identified before it is treated. Wine, ink, cosmetics and food each need a different chemistry, and the wrong one sets the mark permanently. Older stains are treated honestly — we will say when a full lift is unlikely.
Pet, damp and cooking odours live in the foam, not the cover, so surface cleaning does nothing. Treatment goes into the filling and is followed by controlled drying, because damp foam is what created the smell.
We colour-test in an unseen area before starting, and switch to a low-moisture method if there is any bleed. That test is why we ask to see the piece first.
Two to four hours with our air movers on extraction work, and under an hour on dry-compound treatments.
