How we approach water tank cleaning & sanitisation.

The tank is drained, the sediment removed, the walls, floor and baffles scrubbed, then disinfected and thoroughly rinsed before refilling. Access hatches, seals, overflow and vent screens are checked while the tank is open, because an unsealed hatch is how contamination gets in between cleans.

You receive a cleaning certificate for building management or your landlord, and a laboratory water test where the property or the tenancy requires one. Annual cleaning is the standard interval in this climate; six-monthly is sensible on roof-mounted tanks.
