History of the TradeTall buildings created a job that did not previously exist, and the discipline that grew around it is mostly about not falling.
Once buildings exceeded ladder reach, exterior maintenance needed either permanent equipment built into the structure or a method of temporary suspended access. Both had to be engineered.
Building maintenance units — the cradles that run on roof tracks — are designed into most modern towers. Rope access, developed from climbing and industrial techniques, allows work where a cradle cannot reach and has its own formal training and certification structure.
Work at height is among the highest-risk activities in construction and maintenance anywhere. Permits, method statements, operator certification and third-party insurance exist because the failure mode is fatal.
A skyline of glass towers in a dusty, sun-intense, partly coastal environment creates an unusually demanding maintenance requirement, and a correspondingly serious access industry around it.
Everything we do is scoped against the written checklist, priced after an inspection and fixed in writing before any work begins.
Only with certified operators, documented method statements and the right insurance. A general cleaning licence is not sufficient.
A building maintenance unit — the permanently installed cradle system on the roof of most towers.
Water-fed pole systems work to a limited height. Above that, suspended access is the only safe method.
An inspection, a written scope and a price that holds. We will also tell you when the job does not need us.
No phone quotes. An inspection, a written list, and a price that does not move on the day. Fill this in and it reaches us complete — no back-and-forth to establish the basics.
